Viognier
GrapeWhite: Originating from France, the Viogniers are famed for being produced from the tiny villages of Condrieu and Chateau Grillet in Northern Rhone. Over the years it has become increasingly more popular as it provides the soft, full-bodied texture of Chardonnay but with a more aromatic fruit character. Typical aromatic qualities include: peach, pear and violet. This is a very hard grape to grow as the balance can easily change during ripening giving over alcoholic, flabby wines.
Classic Viognier growing countries are:
France, Australia, California and South Africa.
