Region
(Toscana) The most famous of all Italian wine producing regions. Picturesque with gently rolling hills, terracotta roof tiled palazzos and great wine. Although most people think of Chianti wine making in this region is extremely varied. Sangiovese rules supreme in Chianti, although other classic regions are dotted around: Chianti, Chianti Classico, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Brunello, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano and super Tuscan wine (usually based on Bordeaux blends).
