Piedmont (Piemonte) lies at the foot of the Alps in Italy.With fine wine and locally produced food (usually with a touch of the local truffle) the atmosphere is this area is outstanding. On average Piemonte produces the highest quality, longest lived and the most expensive wines from Italy and is widely regarded as one of the countries top gastronomic destinations. The grape Nebbiolo reigns supreme here.
