Petit Verdot

Grape
Red: Is a classic Bordeaux grape variety that has declined in importance. It ripens late and only fully in hot years creating age worthy, tannic, spicy wines with a lot of colour. It is found mainly in left bank blends. Because it thrives in heat, it has had a mini revival in Australia where it can make single varietal wines and California where it is mainly used in Bordeaux blends.
