Region
In South West South Africa Paarl has the sea to the west and the Breede River Valley to the east. Chardonnay, Cabernet and Merlot are grown around the foothills of Paarl's many mountains. Rhône varietals along with Pinotage also do well. Many old vines are still around in this area producing concentrated wines.
