New Zealand as been grown quickly as a wine making country. Due to their knowledge in the diary industry this has allowed them to pioneer the use of temperature controlled stainless steel vats. Unlike most other countries they have continued to trade at levels which other countries can only aspire to, with the average cost per bottle being much higher than any other main wine producing country. Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc continues to dominate the in UK, made famous by such brands as Cloudy bay. There is a growing interest in Pinot Noir from Central Otago and Syrah from Hawkes Bay.
