Nebbiolo
GrapeRed: The great and powerful grape from Piedmont although it is rarely seen elsewhere. Is makes its name in two of Italy's long lived and famous wines, Barolo and Barbaresco, although great value can be sort outside these DOCGs. It is thick-skinned and must have a lot of heat and sunshine to ripen fully. It is a very hard grape to make good wine out of as it can make red wines that are too tannic when young. The best last decades with scents of red fruit, flowers, truffle, malt and violets and with flavours of rich, tarry, black cherry fruit.
