Mourvèdre

Red: Found mainly in the South of France it is a hot-climate variety. It is the main constituent in Bandol.
It produces jammy, meaty wines with herbal notes and with a lot of tannin and deep colour.
Very thick-skinned and resistant to fungal diseases and rot but has lower yields than other varieties.

Other Names: Mataro, Monastell
