Mclaren Vale

Region

40 minutes from South Australia’s Capital city Adelaide McLaren Vale is one of Australia’s most renowned wine regions. It has substantial meso-climatic (Local Area) variation due to exposure to the ocean and shading from it along with altitude variation from the Adelaide Hills. With low rainfall irrigation (watering) is necessary. Becauase of the large differences site selection is important. Most varieties do well here given the right site making this such a diverse region; Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.
