Krug

Sparkling Wine
Owned by LVMH and incorporated into the Veuve-Clicquot company but still run by the Krug family who originated from Germany; it is one of the most famous Champagne houses in the world, with membership of the Grande Marques. Wines are all fermented in oak, which adds complexity, finesse and richness. Long aging on the yeast, strict selection of grapes makes this one of the best, most complex Champagnes on the market. Most wines have strong nutty and autolytic (bread, yeast) character.
They own 20 hectares of vines in Aÿ, Le Mesnil, and Trépail, and contract in the rest of their grapes making Krug a négociant-manipulants (NM is found on the label – These are companies which buy in, blend and produce wine)
