The Wine Library Reviews

Region: Ribera del Duero, Spain

Wine: 2006 Corona de Castilla Estilo

Colour: Red

Grape: Tinto Fino (Tempranillo) based

Bright ruby red, with a nose of ripe red fruit, pepper, slightly reduced (bit of rotting fruit). I hoped it would open up but it didn’t. A moderate acidity, with high ripe tannins, a medium + body is followed by medium intense red fruit, such as cranberry, raspberry, some black cherry and plum, vanilla oak, a touch of pepper and a short finish.

Food Matching: On its own or with heavier chorizo based dishes, lamb chops and red meat.
