The Wine Library Reviews

Region: Burgundy, France

Wine: 2001 Chevalier Montrachet, Domaine Leflaive

Colour: White

Grape: 100% Chardonnay

Cracking wine, tasted next to the 1999 Bienvenues. After an hour in the glass this opened up to have lemon, pear and melon fruit, slightly honeyed, nuts, richer than the 99, toasty French oak, high smoky minerality, high acidity and a long elegant finish.

Food Matching: Roast white meats, heavier fish.
