The Wine Library Reviews

Region: Barossa Valley, Australia

Wine: 1994 Mentor, Peter Lehmann

Colour: Red

Grape: 100% Cabernet Sauvignon

Tasted blind. Developed, tobacco, old leather, cigar, graphite, sweet spices, cinnamon, cedar, cassis, dried red berries, herbal cherry, white spice and mocha. Unbelievably complex. Dry, medium + alcohol, ripe medium+ well integrated tannin, intense flavours and a long finish. Only thing a little out of balance was the heat of alcohol, but really impressed.

Food Matching: Red meats, roasts, braised game.
