Region: Bekaa Valley, Lebanon
Wine: 2000 Chateau Musar
Colour: Red
Grape: Approx. 1/3 Cabernet Sauvignon, 1/3 Cinsault and 1/3 Carignan
Turning a little garnet, and showing signs of age. Fig, prunes, black currant, red currant, cedar, tobacco, smoke and earthiness, followed by its trade mark high acidity, which is close to vinegar in its volatility. The tannins are smooth but the fruit starting to dry out slightly, the finish is very good. Drink in the next couple of years.
Food Matching: Roasted lamb with prunes.
