Wine: 2004 Brunello di Montalcino, Donatella Cinelli Colombini

There’s nothing better than being in Montalcino tasting Brunello – Decanter gave this wine five stars… really? A very rich fruit forward Brunello, almost so ripe it tastes a little like a Port. Intense and fruity but relatively one dimensional and a little close to some of the Rosso di Montaolcino’s tasted, but the finish is long and elegant. Keep for up to five years.
Food Matching: Cheese, dried fruit, powerful wild boar.
