The Wine Library Reviews

Region: Piemonte, Italy

Wine: 2004 Barbaresco, Manfredi

Colour: Red

Grape: Nebbiollo

Very modern Nebbiolo nose. It’s clean but not overly pronounced, with some layers of red fruit, rose and a hint of tar. Lots of fine tannins, and a lack of acidity which slightly knocks this wine out of balance. A typical entry level Barbaresco which you can’t argue with at that cost.

Food Matching: Ideal with rich red meats and with mature cheeses as an after dinner wine.
