Region: South Rhone, France
Wine: 2004 Chateauneuf du Pape, Domaine La Roquette
Colour: Red
Grape: Approx. 70% Grenache, 20% Syrah and 10% Mourvèdre
From the Brunier family of Vieux Télégraphe, this wine is starting to turn a little garnet at the rim, this is has complex aromas of red cherries and black fruit, with cedar wood and herbs. A high acidity helps balance the high ripe tannins, full body and long finish. A good CNDP especially at this price and could keep for another 5 years.
Food Matching: Roquefort and peppered bacon, roast leg of lamb with a red wine sauce or venison steaks with red-cabbage.
