The Wine Library Reviews
Region: Northern Rhone, France
Wine: 2004 Hermitage, Monier de la Sizeranne, M Chapoutier
Colour: Red
Grape: Syrah
Starting to see a touch of garnet at the rim which shows signs of age. The aromas are intense and complex with touches of fruits of the forest, cherry, blackberry, cedar wood, cloves, cinnamon and pepper. The tannins have come round and softened with a high acidity which helps balance this wine. Will keep for another 10 years.
Food Matching: Rich red meat dishes, game or even hard cheese at the end of a meal.
