Region: Champagne, France
Wine: 2004 Champagne Gobillard, Prestige Rosé Millisime
Colour: Sparkling White
Grape: 60% Chardonnay and 40% Pinot Noir
Again, youthful when tasted and more of a salmon pink in colour. On the nose it is has a distinctly Pinot Noir smell, of sweet red fruits, followed by vanilla oak and freshly baked buns. The red fruit compote slightly overpowers everything else in the mouth with the acidity struggling to kick through, but it finishes with a good length.
Food Matching: Crayfish with savoury butter sauce, langoustine, monkfish and sole. White cheeses and fresh herbs.
