The Wine Library Reviews
Region: Burgundy, France
Wine: 2003 Bourgogne Rouge, Pinot Noir, Cuvee Gerard Potel, Nicolas Potel
Colour: Red
Grape: Pinot Noir
This wine was a pleasant surprise with warm ripe cherries and a little green herbiness on the nose and a rich red fruit palate. It’s soft and full but with a good balance of acidity, which helps cut through the richness of this hot year. Value for money from Burgundy!
Food Matching: Grilled lamb chops or kebabs with cumin and cinnamon, and other dishes that aren’t too powerful, can also work with white meats such as Turkey, or duck in a cherry sauce.
