The Wine Library Reviews

Region: Tuscany, Italy

Wine: 2001 Brunello, Casanova Di Neri

Colour: Red

Grape: Sangiovese

Deep ruby with a wide rim of garnet. Full bodied, sour red fruit in abundance, earth, dust, violets, leather and a hint of tobacco. This has got better with age and the finish is still going on. Glorious.

Food Matching: Wild bore sausage, game, rich sauces.

Score out of 10: 9.5
