Region
California is a wine producing region on the west coast of the USA and is the largest source of American wine, making it fourth largest in the world. It is almost impossible to generalise due to the larde range of climates. Much of the coastal regions are cooled by morning fogs and sea breezes whereas inland some of the hotest wine producing regions are found.
