Alicante
Located in South East Spain, the Alicante DO covers an area of 14,000 hectares. The Alicante wine region consists of 53 vineyards which produce 11.7 millon liter of wine annually. White grape varieties: Chardonnay, Macabeo, Meseguera, Moscatel de Alejandría, Sauvignon Blanc, Planta Fina and Verdil. Black grape varieties: Garnacha Tinta, Garnacha Tintorera, Monastrell, Tempranillo, Bobal, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah. The reds are usually powerful and full bodied.
